Looking for the next culinary story and delicious idea.

Two women, one in a chef's coat stand side by side in front of a table. They are both smiling. The chef is cutting a golden pear in to slices.

This is me

Born and raised in the Salty City - with a foray to the coastal paradise of Vancouver, British Columbia for art school - I have worked the last eight years as a sushi chef and most recently began producing my own food podcast. Over the last few years I've deeply explored, refined, and am committed to my core values - with goals to broaden my career globally within journalism, audio media, and food advocacy.

Hands are seen holding a knife and cutting a golden pear.

I seek to explore food through lenses a multidisciplinary lens.

Food and culture are inexorably linked. What we eat, how we produce it, and effects it has on society have been a primary driving force for millennia. Through my writing and culinary creation I look at the cultural impacts that cuisine imparts. I hope to expand my mind and palate with in depth research, recipe and restaurant exploration, and social foraging.

My recent interests include food heritage and sovereignty, the effects of colonialism on cuisine, indigenous agriculture and cooking methods, as well as foods of the Japanese and Spanish diaspora.
